Grandma didn't have much to her name as far a worldly things, but she did have a wealth of knowledge when it came to canning and preserving jams, jellies and vegetables. Times were always hard for her but she knew how to make the best of what she had. One of those ways was by growing her own fruits and vegetables and then preserving them as they became ripe and ready to pick. This wealth of knowledge ( jam and jelly recipes) was passed down to us by her and it is still being used right in our Blissfield Restaurant today as we continue to preserve for our guest the very same way she taught us so many years ago. Banana bread and homemade jam and jelly just like Grandma's Our jam and jelly is made in our restaurant located in the small Village of Blissfield Michigan surrounded by farmland on all sides for a far as you can see. It was in this area of plenty with the rich soil and the abundant knowledge of farming that the tradition of preserve making would become mainstay with our restaurant. As a Blissfield restaurant Beckeys has been making Jams for quite a while for our guest to enjoy with their breakfast everyday and our fresh baked breads for later in the day. It was only after many years of request from our guest that we began making our Jams and breads available to everyone to take home to enjoy. Beckeys jams and breads also made great gifts for Family, friends, and co-workers
